Café Team Leader

Part-time (16 hours per week), £20,000 per annum, pro rata, 2 Year Fixed Term

Urban Green are about to embark on a number of projects to expand our hospitality and retail offer across our parks and allotments, including opening more Urban Green Café sites.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic part-time Café Team Leader to cover the extra hours incurred in setting up the latest venture. You will ensure the seamless day-to-day running of the café and deliver the highest standards of customer care.

You will have experience running a café operation to a high standard, excellent customer service skills and a robust working knowledge of health and safety requirements.

The role is part-time (16 hours per week) and fixed term for 2 years. We currently expect the role to commence in July ahead of the café opening later that month. You will be based across two sites working alongside the team at the existing café at Exhibition Park as well as at the new café site within one of our popular parks close to Newcastle City Centre.

Pizza Chef (Part Time)

Part Time (18.5 hours per week), 2 Year Fixed Term

National Minimum/Living Wage with added benefits including generous holiday package and share of gratuities.

We have recently launched Urban Green Café, our flagship café venue in Exhibition Park. We’re seeking to appoint and experienced part time Pizza Chef. You will be responsible for the preparation of fresh food daily and will support the management of the café.

You will have experience managing a kitchen in a hospitality/catering venue/setting, a qualification in Catering, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or Professional Cookery and experience using and maintaining a wood fired pizza oven.

Full-time, £20,000 – £25,000 (subject to experience), Permanent

Urban Green Newcastle is an independent charity responsible for the management, maintenance and protection of 33 parks and over 60 allotment sites across Newcastle upon Tyne.  One of the first organisations of our kind in the country, we represent a novel approach to securing the future of green spaces previously managed by a local authority. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and passionate Ranger to join our Parks and Allotments team.

You will engage with the public, volunteers and stakeholders on a daily basis, making them feel valued and welcome. The role involves undertaking maintenance and conservation works across the Urban Green parks estate, ensuring our visitors have a safe and inspiring experience.

You will have experience of working in a park and/or countryside setting, good IT skills, excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.

The role is full-time (37 hours per week) and is based at our offices in Heaton Park.
