Geordie Grand Slammers – Tennis Session

| The launch of a brand new LGBTQ+ friendly Tennis venue. A safe space for LGBTQ+ tennis players and allies to come and engage in some coaching and social play. Joining other cities around the UK in providing a safe space for LGBTQ+ tennis enthusiasts to come to together to be able to enjoy the game as their authentic selves. Geordie Grand Slammers know there are barriers for LGBTQ+ people in Sport which has contributed to an inequality in the health and wellbeing of the LGBTQ+ communities, (including lower physical activity levels and higher rates of poor mental health) and want to open up the Sport by providing equipment, coaching and social play to make tennis accessible for any standard regardless of a person’s sexuality or gender identity. Geordie Grand Slammers are running their launch session from Exhibition Park courts in Newcastle on Sunday 28th August from 5.30pm-7.30pm. Any following sessions will be confirmed and will be run through donations rather than a compulsory charge to make it as affordable as possible. |
