Overview
The nature reserve takes its name from the Havannah drift mine and three slag heaps that dominate the land and is home to a variety of protected and priority species including red squirrels, great crested newts, badgers and a variety of birds of conservation concern.
The reserve has a number of public rights of way and permissive footpaths and bridleways and is popular with cyclists, horse riders and dog walkers.
It can get muddy, so make sure you wear a pair of outdoor boots or wellies!
