Overview
Developed on the site of High Heaton Pit, the park remembers the 75 men and boys who died in the Main Pit disaster in 1815 with an area of woodland planted in 1852 with 75 sycamore trees for the lives lost.
The park is mainly open grassland, mature woodland and children's play area, it is a convenient recreational space for the local community.
