Urban Green Park Action

Are you passionate about Newcastle’s green spaces? Do you want to get involved in local issues? Would you like to share your ideas? Then we want to hear from you through Urban Green Park Action!

We are working hard to breathe new life into the allotments and parks in our city. However, we cannot do this alone. We want to collaborate with everyone in Newcastle to co-create greenspaces that are open and accessible to all.

What is Urban Green Park Action?

Urban Green Park Action is your chance to tell us about what’s important to you and have your say on our plans for your parks. Whether you’re interested in a particular park or a key issue like biodiversity, you can sign up to be involved in the discussions that matter to you.

Anyone can sign up and we want to hear from as many of you as possible, so we’ve made signing up and taking part as quick, easy and flexible as we can.

We know people don’t have time to get involved with everything going on in all of our parks and allotments. So you can register to be involved in conversations about particular parks that are close to your heart, and to subjects that are of interest to you.

To make sure everyone has the chance to have their say, no matter how much time you’ve got, we’ll also be giving you different ways to get involved. From filling out online surveys, to attending public meetings, to joining an online focus group for key topics and projects.

However you want to get involved, the first step is to sign up using the form below and let us know what matters to you.

What topics can I register my interest in?

Safe and Welcoming Place

We want everyone to feel proud of their local greenspace and welcome to visit it. This theme will focus on the aspects that make our parks feel like a safe and?welcoming place for everyone.?This will include presentation standards, safety concerns and accessibility within our parks.??

Thriving Hub for Communities

Our parks are a?valuable community asset and a vital space for recreation and relaxation. This theme will focus on all the things the things the parks can be used for. This could include organised sport and informal physical activity, play, commercial and community events,?guided activities and trails that improve our wellbeing and greenspace volunteering.

Conserving Our Parks for the Future

We have a rich array of natural and built heritage across?our parks. We want to preserve and help our heritage assets to thrive for the enjoyment of future generations. This theme will include biodiversity, combatting climate change, conservation of historical sites and buildings.
