Urban Green Newcastle could not function as we do without our wonderful volunteer team, who help us to make our parks and greenspaces the best they can be for both people and wildlife to enjoy.

You don’t need any particular skills or experience to be an Urban Green volunteer. All you need is enthusiasm for the task in hand!

There is a volunteering role for everyone. Check out the opportunities available below.

Volunteer Work Parties

Join Urban Green Newcastle and help us by clearing pathways, tending flowerbeds, repairing fences, or keeping the parks litter free. No previous experience is required, but a willingness to get stuck in and work as part of a team is essential.

Self Led Park Volunteering

As a Parks volunteer you can work independently, or within a group to look after your local park. This volunteer role allows you to volunteer in your local park at a time that suits you, on gardening, maintenance and conservation tasks.

Urban Green Clean

Urban Green Clean is sponsored by the LGA Foundation and volunteers are needed in all parks across the City. When you sign up we’ll provide you with litter pickers, gloves, bin bags and hi-visibility vests, as well as instructions to keep you safe. There are no set times or guidelines about how often volunteers should take part, just whenever they can help.

Are you interested in volunteering with Urban Green Newcastle, but are not able to attend a volunteering session? Send us your full name and contact details along with where you are interested in volunteering to volunteer@urbangreennewcastle.org
