Notice of Works: Havannah Nature Reserve from 10.01.22

Starting from Monday 10 January, Newcastle City Council will be carrying out works to deal with existing flooding on the Waggonway and to address the ongoing development of Newcastle Great Park, which will temporarily impact the access into Havannah and Three Hills Nature Reserve from Brunton Lane.

The works to install a new drainage pipe are expected to take approximately six weeks. Urban Green Newcastle is working to seek assurance from Newcastle City Council to ensure any disruption to the nature reserve is kept to a minimum. We have sought clarity from Newcastle City Council on the planned landscaping work, and an Arboricultural Officer from the Council will be assessing any potential impact to trees in the area of the works.

Whilst the works are taking place, visitors to Havannah and Three Hills Nature Reserve won’t be able to enter the reserve from the South access route at Brunton Lane. Newcastle City Council will be adding temporary signage to direct people to an alternative access point

All works are designed and led by Newcastle City Council. Any general queries regarding the current works should be directed to Robertson’s who are managing the installation through John George at j.george@robertson.co.uk.
