Last year we embraced ‘No Mow May’ in 20 of the city’s parks, In 2023 we’re going even further reducing mowing across all 33 parks.
We’re celebrating National Allotments Week by working with young people across Newcastle to help take care of pollinators whilst gardening.
This month we’re supporting Plantlife’s annual ‘No Mow May’ campaign to combat a decline in global biodiversity by helping to protect pollinator habitats across the region.
We’re inviting children and families to join us this February half team to get buzzy with a whole hive of activities that will teach you all about the role of bees in supporting the region’s natural habitats as part of our Beelines North East activity days.
We are thrilled to be able to announce that our Beelines North East project in partnership with Northumberland Wildlife Trust has been awarded a £697,800 grant from the Government’s £40 million second round of the Green Recovery Challenge Fund, a multi-million pound boost for green jobs and nature recovery.
