We are proud that the ivy in our parks provides a home to many Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) priority species and those most threatened in the UK including the song thrush.
All playgrounds, games areas (including tennis courts and multi-use games areas) and unfenced play equipment is CLOSED to the public until further notice in line with government guidance.
Specific areas of our parks are being used more than others, particularly play areas and popular attractions like Pets’ Corner in Jesmond Dene. Because of this, we’ve taken the decision to close all playgrounds and Pets’ Corner.
A brand new, state of art, interactive football wall has been unveiled at City Stadium Park, Ouseburn, as part of a playground improvement programme by Urban Green Newcastle and Newcastle City Council.
