Trees

We are about to undertake the next phase of our tree maintenance programme. We have carried out the most urgent works in recent months but there is still some work to be done in order to ensure the health and safety of our parks.

With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, Urban Green Newcastle is re-starting many of its maintenance programmes that had to be put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

Trees, like all other living things, can suffer from disease and unfortunately nearly 100 of our trees have been found to have hazardous levels of decay, requiring major works or removal.
