Today (Friday 28 July) marks the beginning of Love Parks Week, the annual campaign to celebrate parks, green spaces, and the dedicated volunteers and workers that look after them all year round.
This year, we’ll be taking you on a tour of some of the city’s parks and green spaces so you can meet our wonderful volunteers and partners, and find out about events and activities taking place over the summer.
We’ll be posting content across our social media channels next week using #LoveParks. If you don’t follow us on social media already, you can find us on Facebook, Instagram, X (formally Twitter) and LinkedIn.
If you’d like to take part in Love Parks Week, tell us what you love about your local park or green space by tagging us in your posts, or by using the official #LoveParks hashtag.
Run by Keep Britain Tidy – a leading environmental charity that cares for the environment on your doorstep – Love Parks Week is a chance to celebrate and support the best of our green spaces. It’s also an opportunity to raise awareness of issues around access to parks.
Newcastle’s parks are open all year round to give local communities, and visitors to the city, access to nature and open green spaces. They improve our health and wellbeing, help protect our environment, and give wildlife a place to thrive. Let’s celebrate them together during Love Parks Week.
