Notice of Works: Walker Park 29.08.22

Notice of Works - Walker Park 08.22

Notice of Works: From the week of 29 August, we will be carrying out a series of works in Walker Park which are expected to take around one month.

The work is completing the extensive improvements to the park, initiated by Newcastle City Council several years ago as part of their successful bid to the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF).

We are proud to be able to deliver the final elements of the NLHF funded project on behalf of the Council, as part of our ongoing commitment to bring about improvements to the parks, and make them more attractive, welcoming spaces. These works include clearance of the maintenance yard, repairs to footpaths, and repairs to existing drainage. In particular:

Footpath work: The paving material used on the various stretches of footpath around the play area, skate park and central activity zone need to be resurfaced. The existing material will be removed and replaced with tarmac.

Maintenance Area adjacent to Lodge: Remove the portacabins, improve fencing and security and make better use of this space.

Drainage works: Install two new metal gulley pots and covers at the entrance to the park.

We are extremely grateful to NLHF for their ongoing support to help us complete the extensive improvement programme to the park. If you have any questions about this notice of works please feel free to get in touch with us using our online form or at info@urbangreennewcastle.org
