Postcards from Pets’ Corner

As we continue to look after the health and wellbeing of you, our park users, we’ve also been making sure our much-loved animals in Pets’ Corner are well looked after too.

Following the closure of Pets’ Corner to the public, and changes to our staffing at Urban Green Newcastle to ensure everyone that works across our parks and allotments is kept safe and well, many of our animals have gone on a little holiday.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to all the staff, colleagues and friends who have provided a safe and loving temporary home for some of our pets. So far, the guinea pigs, rabbits, barn owl and blue-faced parrot have all moved to their temporary new homes, with the chickens and goats following soon.

We know many people love to visit the animals at Pets’ Corner, which is why we’ve asked our furry and feathered friends to send us a postcard from their new homes, so we can keep in touch and find out what they’ve been doing. We’ll post a new postcard on our website and social media platforms every few days. We hope you enjoy them!

If anyone would like to send a postcard or letter to one of our animals, or maybe even a drawing you’ve made of our pets, please send it to the address below and we’ll make sure they get it. We’ll share your lovely pictures and letters on our Facebook and Twitter feeds.
