Overview
Walker Riverside Park is rich in flora and fauna. Created in the 1980s on reclaimed industrial land, the popular park features grassland, woodland, wildflower meadows and a network of tarmac footpaths.
The park includes some of the Hadrian's Wall Trail and Sustrans Route 72 cycleway and the riverside promenade allows great views of the Tyne.
The park is popular for informal recreation, jogging, dog walking and fishing.
